120 Years of Cinema on 28th december 2015 - Happy Birthday, Cinema!

This big collage, consisting of 9 numbered sheets in 3 vertical columns, tells the story of little Cinemania, born on 28th december 1895, at the Grand Café in Paris. I am offering you translations to English and French, and if you take the time to read the lines together with the pictures, you're gonna enjoy the journey! I'd say, this is my most complex work so far, it took weeks to realise it. You can study it as a riddle: At the bottom of the lines, you will also find a list of all movies referred to in quotes and images.

1) Am 28.12.1895 erblickt die kleine Cinémania im Herzen von Paris das Licht der Leinwand.
On 28th december 1895, little Cinemania sees the light of the big screen in the heart of Paris.
Le 28 décembre 1895, la petite Cinemania voit le jour sur le grand écran au coeur de Paris.

Als ein Kind des Paradieses lernt sie bei Méliès die Spielarten der Illusion.
As a child of the paradise, she learns from Méliès the million facets of illusion.
Étant un enfant du paradis, elle apprend les facettes de l’illusion chez Méliès.

2) Sie lernt zu träumen, sich zu verwandeln.
She learns to dream and to change.
Elle apprend à rȇver, à se métamorphoser.

3) Die Liebe verwirrt ...
Love confuses...
L’amour la trouble, ...

4) ... und verbittert sie.
... and fills her with bitterness.
... puis la rend amère.

Wer ist sie? Was ist mit dem Kuddelmuddel in ihrem Leben?
Who is she? What about her own messy life?
Qui est-elle? Qu’est-ce qu’il y a des cafouillages de la sienne de vie?

5) Sie weiß nur, dass sie anders ist. Sie will in die Tiefe sehen. Fragen, die sie sich stellt:
All she knows is that she’s kind of different. She wants to look into the depths. She's wondering about questions like these:
Tout-ce qu’elle sait, c’est qu’elle est différente. Elle veut voir dans les profondeurs. Les questions qu’elle se pose:

6) Wie entschlüsselt man Kunst?      Wie verschlüsselt man sie?     Was bedeutet sehen?
How can art be deciphered?         How can it be ciphered?        What does „seeing“ mean?
Comment se déchiffre l’art?    Comment le coder?       Que signifie „voir“?

Gibt es die Welt hinter der Leinwand?
Does the world behind the screen exist?   
Le monde derrière l’écran, existe-t-il?    

7) Warum brauchen wir Geschichten?    Was ist Zeit?    Ist die Vorstellungskraft der Kern menschlicher Intelligenz?
Why do we need stories?    What is time?    Is imagination the core of human intelligence?
Pourquoi avons-nous besoin d’histoires?    Le temps, qu’est-ce que c’est?    Est-ce que l’imagination est l’essentiel de l’intelligence humaine?

8) (Und warum haben manche Regisseure keine?) Slip oder kein Slip?!? Hirn oder kein Hirn? 
(And why have some directors seemingly void of it?) Panties or no panties? Brain or no brain?
(Et pourquoi quelques directeurs n‘en disposent-ils pas?) Slip ou pas de slip? Cerveau ou pas de cerveau?

Den Laden regiere ich mit meiner rechten Milchdrüse.     Was brauchen Männer und Frauen wirklich?     Wer bin ich wirklich?    Schließlich begreift sie:
I could rule the place with the right set of mammary glands.    What do men and women really need?    Who am I really?   Until finally she realizes:
Je mène la bȏite avec ma glande mammaire droite.   Hommes et femmes, de quoi ont-ils vraiment besoin?    Qui suis-je vraiment?    Elle finit par comprendre:

9) Ich bin jede Frau und jeder Mann!    Ich bin die Summe all dieser Momente!    Ich kann nicht sterben.    Denn ich bin das Gedächtnis der Welt.
I am every woman and every man!    I am every moment, the sum of all of it!    I cannot die.    I am the memory of the world.
Je suis chaque femme et chaque homme.    Je suis la somme de tous ces instants!    Je ne peux pas mourir.    Car je suis la mémoire du monde.

Ich erinnere mich an jeden Moment.    Epilog: Es war 24 Uhr 17 oasischer Zeit, als ich in Omegaville ankam.    Ich schloss die Augen und sah das Licht.
I remember every moment.    Epilogue: It was 24.17 Oasian Time when I reached Omegaville.   I closed my eyes and saw the light.
Je me souviens de chaque instant.    Épilogue: Il était 24 h 17 heure oasienne, quand je suis arrivée à Omegaville.   J’ai fermé les yeux et j’ai vu la lumière.
